Noravank
Noravank is a medieval Armenian monastery located in a narrow gorge. The gorge is known for its brick-red, sheer and tall cliffs across the monastery. The monastery is popular with the two storey church St. Holy Mother of God. To get on the second floor is possible by a narrow stone-made staircase from the face of the building. The name Noravank is translated into Armenian as New Monastery. From the first sight it seems to be new, because of the yellow stones of the building. The fortress walls surrounding the monastery complex were built in the 17-18th century. There were found many cross-stones around the territory of the comples which cannon be found anywhere alse.
