Garni

Garni pagan temple was built in 1th century BC. The temple was dedicated to the god of the Sun. The structures of the fortress of Garni are in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. The temple is situated in a picturesque mountain locality and commands a broad panorama of orchards, fields and mountain slopes covered with motley carpets of varicoloured grasses, of the jagged and precipitous canyon of the Azat River. Once in the valley, turning right will lead to Garni Gorge, an 11 century medieval bridge and the "Symphony of the Stones". Taking a left will lead along the river past a fish hatchery up to the Khosrov Reserve.
